Since 1700, we have cultivated our land with passion on the hills of Alto Piemonte.

Since the family’s arrival in Briona in 1700, the Castaldi family has never abandoned winegrowing on these hills.
Today, Francesca and Marco carry forward the tradition of both family and territory.

Our family has always placed quality at the center of everything we do, and we continue to follow this path today, a value handed down to us and one we firmly believe in. We are committed to enhancing the territory and the native grape varieties of Alto Piemonte, applying modern vinification techniques that respect both nature and tradition, with close attention to product quality and direct care for our customers. Choosing one of our wines means choosing a product made from sustainably grown grapes, cultivated on our own land and vinified and bottled entirely by us — independent winegrowers and members of FIVI (the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers), which guarantees a very short supply chain.

THE ESTATE

On the hills of Briona, overlooked by the imposing Rocca Sforzesca fortress, viticulture has always found an ideal setting. Ancient written records dating back to around 1100 document the existence, on this very site, of the Caneva di San Gaudenzio, the cellars that once served the Diocese of Novara, in the same courtyards where our winery stands today. Indeed, the history of our family, the Castaldis, is closely interwoven with the history of the village, its castle and its splendid churches: crossing the hills of Barengo, the family arrived from Cavaglio d’Agogna toward the end of the 1700s, and ever since we have cultivated the vine on the hills of this small municipality with great passion.

TERRITORY

Alto Piemonte is a borderland, shaped by time and by the mountains, where the hills meet the Alps and the climate defines a precise identity. Here, marked temperature variations, fluvio-glacial soils and the constant influence of Monte Rosa create unique conditions capable of enhancing finesse, freshness and balance in the wines. It is a discreet, authentic territory that demands attention and respect, yet rewards with deep, recognizable expressions in which elegance and character coexist naturally.
